Painful Ties
Painful Ties is an emotionally charged short film about the wounds we carry, the truths we bury, and the unexpected ways our past can find its way back to us.
A guarded young man enters a therapy session hoping to confront years of unresolved pain stemming from a fractured childhood and the absence of a father he never truly knew. Sitting across from him is a seasoned therapist whose cynical outlook and personal struggles have left him emotionally disconnected from the people he is supposed to help.
What begins as an ordinary session slowly becomes something far more personal. As memories surface and emotional walls begin to fall, both men are forced to confront uncomfortable truths about abandonment, resentment, regret, and the lasting impact a parent’s absence can have on a child’s life.
